Included among the administration papers were two letters written on behalf of Mary-Ann Sinclair (widow and sister-in-law of the deceased) and Henry Toothill (Ironfounder) in which each appeared to claim the sum of 528 pounds from the estate. There was nothing to indicate the outcome of their claims (if that is in fact what they were) and in any case the balance of the estate would not have been sufficient to provide the amount claimed. It seems that the winding up of the property which must have been worked in partnership by Charles and William forced the latter to move from this farm at Lower Norton as shortly afterwards he shifted to Deep Lead.
