[1] All information in this chapter regarding her own brothers and sisters was either supplied by my mother or else personally known by the author. The date of the marriage of Robert and Margaret was obtained from the birth certificate of my mother. Interestingly the names of the older children in the family were also recorded on the certificate and were - William, Lillian, Robert (known as Harold), Margaret (known as Clare), Edgar (whom I presume was John) and Frank. It seems to have been a custom of the Cassidys to go by a name other than their first Christian name - a custom that can make life very difficult for someone trying to research the family history!
